Radiation Patterns

A radiation pattern is the variation of the field intensity of an antenna as an angular function with respect to the axis. Also, the radiation pattern is a graphical depiction of the relative field strength transmitted from or received by the antenna.

A radiation pattern is usually represented graphically for the far-field conditions along the electrical field and the magnetic field vectors, along the direction of maximum radiation or E-plane and H-plane
